Hello friends!
Introducing ‘Snackable’ Sketchbook Tours!
Welcome to my ‘snack-sized’ mini sketchbook tours! Less than 5 mins long, no chatting, just the work! I have many in-depth sketchbook tours available, where I talk through process in detail, and the ideas behind each book. However, I wanted to create shorter versions for everyone to access and to create a fun library. I hope you enjoy them!
The chatty full length version of this sketchbook can be found here (33 mins).
A rare materials haul!
Holbein Acrylic Gouache curate by Rebecca Green: Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to go for these! I enjoyed Katie Moody swatching video, which I recommend for seeing them in action.
Luminance in Dark Indigo (639) and Middle Cobalt Blue (660). These are replacements, they have been much loved for the creamy waxy texture. Doesn’t it feel amazing to replenish much loved materials?!
Derwent Pencil Extenders. Thanks to
for the recommendation to get the duo set!Canson - Perforated sheets of A5 90gsm paper. There is something about this paper that has a certain ‘fluffiness’ to it that I can’t explain. It takes ink really well and holds it in its little fibres in a really pleasing way. I would never choose such light weight paper usually, and especially not perforated!! But, after being gifted one, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Working fast, with ink, on loose sheets has been a game changer for getting in the flow, so I am excited that these were stocked in Jackson’s.
Caran D’ache Neopastels. If you’ve been following my work for a while, you’ll know I’ve found a deep love for oil pastels - but mostly the cheap stuff. I’ve been holding off on the delicious creamy good stuff, because I feared I would love it too much - y’know?! Anyhow, I took the plunge, and, as predicted, I am madly in love.
