Co-Swatch Sesh March

What to do with metallic paints, and chats about precious gifts

Today’s session was so relaxing, I feel I need a nap afterwards!

Today was also a reminder to me of how important and valuable this one hour a month together is. Total permission to play, to connect with our supplies, something we rarely allow time for. I bought this new Rebecca Green limited Edition Holbein Acrylic Gouache set almost a month ago, but have only now been able to sit down with it, thanks to this session. And to play with it, with such great company, is magic! Thanks to everyone to took time out to join me.

Here’s my swatch page:

Image of different colour paint swatches on an open sketchbook spread
Paint from the tube swatched along the top, then random mixing and swatching underneath. A nice way to fill a spread!
  • Thanks to

for the nudge to switch on captions in the zoom session - what a great tip. I hope that makes it more accessible to anyone else who does not have English as a first language. I appreciate that so many accents can be hard to navigate!

  • Stickers!! I asked everyone for recommendations for artists & illustrators who create stickers, as I am rediscovering the love for them at the moment. If you have any suggestions, please add them to the comments.

    sells some great stickers here
was suggested too, their store is here
If you sell stickers, share your store links please!

  • 100 day project magic is happening over at

Substack page, - go check out her beautiful collage landscapes here. I think its my favourite 100 day project I have seen so far! So elegant, so simple - can’t wait to see the final 100!

  • asked for tips on how to pack supplies for travel, so we share some of our tips. Not an easy thing to crack, and we are all mostly hopeless at it -haha - but its was lovely to hear the ideas.

  • Welcome to Reni who joined for the first time, was lovely to have you share your stories about parties with friends, drawing with chalk on the floor! (Please share links to your creative stuff / pages in the comments!)

  • All past sessions can be accessed here on the site and remember to download the app and connect to the podcast feed, where you can listen back to all the sessions on audio only. Perfect for studio company!

We’re deep into Project Zone

Working on Projects is tough! We’re almost at the end of Project Theme - Animals. Some of us are having mini-meltdowns (meaning me - haha) BUT, we are moving forward. Sharing together, showing progress, and working toward the end of month goal. These projects are designed to be open enough to adapt to your own portfolio needs, and spacious enough to fit into your schedule. The aim is to complete an illustration (or 3) in 2 months, with the support of the group and myself.

If you’re curious about this, but not sure if its for you, feel free to drop me a message. I’m happy to discuss it with you!

Till next time Folks!
