REPLAY: Co-Swatch Sesh 06

Materials, the beauty of the seasons and Jason Donovan

Thanks for joining October Co-Swatch!

It was so nice to see some new faces, and to connect directly with some of you who I have only messaged or interacted with digitally, but not yet had a chance to chat to. THIS is what I love about these sessions: a chance to chat, no pressure play sessions, and to talk about randomness such as the time I bumped into Jason Donovan in Euston station. Thanks to

for bringing the Australian energy to the party! (And especially for staying up so late to be able to join us!! LEGEND.)

Chat mentions:

  • shared some memories from her recent retreat trip to Italy. It was SO nice to hear about it. DO check out her Substack

  • shared some insights on her experience of working in the Greetings Card industry. Jo has written a series of posts about working in that space here. If you haven’t seen her amazing dog portraits, take a look at her website here, and her Substack .

  • It was a pleasure as always to see

join us, and touched on how her relationship to her creative work evolved, as she decided to move away from channeling her work for Picture Books.

  • Welcome also to

    - was lovely to have you join us too!

My swatching:

I’m continuing to explore my inks, but I wanted to test out some colour palette ideas and play with my oil pastels on top of the ink. The combination of the inky splodges that fill large areas plus the strong colour and line from the oil pastels is really interesting me right now.

Thanks again to everyone who joined!
