Love these! It’s not quite as fun as your cats, but there is a small view that I pass on my daily walks that I draw/paint over and over again. It’s nice to play with the proportions of the trees and water, and because I know it so well, it feels very free and non-serious to draw it over and over again with variations in color, materials and/or composition.
Oh its SO nice to have a go-to familiar subject to draw! Something that you know really well allows you to be really playful and experimental. Sounds great!
