Hi Raj! I won't make it for the co swatching session today. I am too much late on a challenge this week + my new palette hasn't been delivered. I will come to the next one. I wish you a nice session! ❤️
Great. Every night before going to bed, I've been drawing a summary of my day in a dedicated sketchbook for over two years and I've also been doing a daily self-portrait for the past 7 months. I love making fanzines, I try to make at least 2 each month.
I hope that I will manage to be at the co swatching session next week 🤞🏻
Wow you have two years of this practice already! It must be amazing to look back on, but also so motivating to keep going with. I am looking forward to getting to the phase where it's all become part of my routine. I hope to see you next week! Thanks for sharing!
Love the zine! I have 'make a zine' on this year's bingo card. And I am also trying to log things, so I don't forget. Though I have already forgotten to a fair bit, so will be trying to catch up today. Of course it would work so much better if I had a beautiful planner to write it in! 😁
Thanks Tasha! It is funny how quickly we forget things, right?! My brain is an actual sieve right now! It is nice to be able to look back on a month at a glance and remember the little things. Good luck with the zine making!
Sadly I can't Wednesday 19th, I'm sad cause I do love your swatching sessions! I was just sharing with the club about our zine chat! So I made a journaling one too. I'll send it over!
I really enjoyed this post Raj! It felt like a glimpse into your world through art. I have never thought of making a zine to remember each month but it's a good idea!
Thank you Natasha! A monthly Journal Zine can work really well as a bite sized project, can it be as simple or as complex as you like. Let me know if you give it a try!
hahahah I have constant planner envy - but I do feel slightly proud of myself to instill that in you! Of course, the Pith Planner is super minimal and sleek, so I had to have it. The paper is very much NOT for art materials though...but that's all good, I went in fully aware of it, so not at all disappointed. It does appear that I have started my New Year colour calibration setting on 'loud'.
Is it the size of their smallest sketchbook or one size up? I hear the sketchbooks will be available to buy some places here this year (besides Jackson’s, which I love, but being able to buy in person is such a treat!)! ❤️
Love the idea of 1 drawing per week, I started doing 1 self-portrait per week this year after doing a 7-day self-portrait challenge and now I’m already thinking that MAYBE I can mix both ideas🤩
Thanks for sharing this Raj! I don’t keep a visual journal, but I do do a daily self portrait (in my 5-year Hobonichi Techo) and even though I’m basically just drawing my face, looking back on the days I can, at least for now, remember a lot of what happened and how I was feeling
OOOh yes I have seen your self portraits! I wish I started a 5 year drawing journal when I turned 45 - it would've been SO COOL to finish that at 50! Now I feel I should start one at 50 -hahah - silly thing to worry about! Are you enjoying the 5 year diary! Its AMAZING how much we change in 5 years, it will be so cool to look through that when you've finished the book!!
Well see, I wasn’t really using it much, barely writing in it at all. If I did write something it was like “I really should use this more!” 😂 So now I use the full page, all 5 years, for one daily self portrait. So in the end it will a full year of self portraits. I have my hubby’s that he doesn’t use either already lined up for when this one is done

It makes up for my failing memory 😁 And an unexpected side effect is that I realize that I do more in a day than I think.
Yup! My failing memory is also my motivation! 🤣
It is a great motivation 😉

Oh I'm sorry you can't make it this time! I'm so excited to zine with you!
Such a wonderful zine, I especially love the "mid-life roar" 😄
Did you spot the T-Rex?😂

These colors make me sooo happy! And congrats, for the first time in my life, I have planner envy hahaha.

It's comparable to the Cara Cara size (one size up from their smallest), but slightly narrower page width - almost the same height. Very cute size!
Do you expect to have stockists near your new place? THAT WOULD BE SUCH A TREAT!

YES you can TOTALLY mix both ideas! Would be so nice!

The "i really should do this more" reminds me of the Morning Pages 'I don't know what to write' line 😂
Haha, I that one well too 😂
