Hello wonderful subs!
It is quite incredible to me that there are over 600 of you here!
To show my appreciation for your time and attention, I will ensure that all subscribers have access to my key sketchbook tours - and this is one of my favourites so far.
I started this in 2023 and set myself the challenge of filling it by the end of December 2023. I use the Pith Pomelo sketchbook, which I enjoy for the generous page size, the fact that it lays flat with ease, and that it has a lot of pages.
Sketchbook Tours are all free at the time of sharing, but will get archived behind the paywall after a couple of weeks.
All free subscribers get access at the time of posting, but all the previous sketchbook tours can be unlocked behind the paywall. A tab at the top of the website navigation gives you access to all of them.
A reminder of what’s free and what’s behind the paywall:
FREE:
Tone of Voice: "Look what I made! Isn’t it pretty?”
Vibes: Excited
Content: Sketchbook Tours and finished stuff, Inspiration and Monthly overviews. Podcast episodes when I can. (Sketchbook tours are archived behind the paywall after a couple of weeks, so enjoy them as soon as they are posted.)
‘DRAW FOR LIFE’ CLUB MEMBERS, PAID:
Tone of Voice: “Oh shit this is scary and hard but I’m gonna do it anyway. Let’s figure this out together".”
Vibes: Vulnerable, a bit nervous but learning and sharing and learning some more.
Content: Anything that takes ages to put together. Lots of process stuff. How to’s and tips. Personal audio content that is more private. Members only chats and sometimes an invitation to meet on Zoom. Insiders advice and knowledge sharing. Design stuff that helps the illustration and sketchbook stuff. Let’s build our portfolio together. Let’s continue to get better at colour with a regular monthly practice.
Paid is for YOU if:
- You’re fascinated to see the process and thinking behind my work
- You are also a sketchbook obsessive & want to inspired for your own practice
- You want to gently bring focus to getting better at working with colour
- You want to gently get better at working in a more expressive way
- You’re just a lovely person who is willing and able to support my art practice and wants to get access to everything
I am in the process of learning as I go on this platform. I am going to tweak and adapt my offering as I grow and learn. I’m finding the balance between developing my personal work and offering value and support to you all where I can. If there is anything specific you would love to see from me, do not hesitate to drop it in the comments and let me know!
My over-arching ‘Why’ is to build that body of work that I can really put out there, and that I feel reflects ‘me’. It’s a big ask, and maybe it will take a few years, but this is the first year where I am moving out of pure play, into portfolio building. Focus and Intention!
If you’re interested in joining my paid membership but are going through some tough financial times - drop me a message with ‘interested in a comp subscription’. I reserve spaces each month for comps, no questions asked.
Thank you so much for your support - it means the world!

thank you for sharing! Animal' s are always my favourite! I love to see your lines changing in movement ,thickness, even colour! And listen to you while you explain your approaches ,some struggle or fun anecdote , I can see how dear this is to you. Congrats to this 2023 path made.
waiting for more☺️
Love this! I recently have been getting back into drawing and I did some drawings of my sister’s new cat… I didn’t realize how hard it would be for me! I kept falling back into my old perfectionist realism ways and the sweet cats face was just always looking quite creepy. I am motivated by your animal sketchbook to start one too! I want to keep it fun and illustrative … I did not realize just getting basic animal shapes down can be so challenging for me.
